Imagine snowboarding in a bikini (or boardies if your gender suggests such a substitute). Brrrrr, you say?!?! Well, now, change the snow to sand, cold winter blast to a breeze laden with sea salt, and the view from snow-covered forest to a spectacular view of the ocean… And what you have is sandboarding on the dunes near the Praia da Joaquina. Kati and I went one day last week after some time swimming and lying on the beach. Lots of laughing, picture-taking, and of course SAND all over the place! I think I carried much of the dune home with me that day. It was a blast! The night finished off with a big yummy bowl of açai, a sorbet-type mix with fruit from the Amazon at a cute little cafe down the road. Life is good.
